CHIEF MINISTER Shivraj Singh Chouhan would tomorrow file his nomination papers at Sehore to contest the Budhni Assembly Constituency by-election. The polling would be held on April 24. The seat fell vacant due to the resignation of former Budhni MLA Rajendra Singh Chauhan from the Assembly membership to facilitate Chouhan’s election to Vidhan Sabha.

Meanwhile, Gondwana Ganatantra Party (GGP) candidate G S Markam filed his nomination papers in Sehore on Monday for the Budhni by-election. Elaborate arrangements are being made in Sehore to welcome Chouhan at Sehore on Tuesday for filing his nomination papers. His supporters have erected a covered tent with a capacity to hold 8,000-10,000 people.

The route to Collectorate from Sehore Talkies is being decorated with arches, gates and banners. Party workers are also mobilising large crowds from rural areas on the occasion.

The Chief Minister would first garland the statute of Pt Deendayal Upadhyay at the State BJP office at around 10.30 am in Bhopal and from there he would drive to Sehore accompanied by the State BJP president Satyanarayan Jatia, State BJP organising general secretary Kaptan Singh Solanki, former chief minister Sunderlal Patwa, Member of Parliament Kailash Joshi and other BJP leaders.

At the outskirts of Sehore he would be accorded a reception by the BJP workers from where he would proceed to the Collectorate. The BJP sources said the auspicious time advised to the CM by astrologers for filing the nomination papers is from 12 noon to 2.20 pm.

After filing the nomination papers he would address a public meeting near the Collectorate. A good number of ministers would be present at the time of nomination papers and the public meeting.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan had contested assembly elections successfully from Budhni constituency in 1990.
