AU B Sc-I results get delayed
IN YET another proof of the callous attitude that some Allahabad University (AU) teachers sport towards their work, practical examination copies of around 250 students have not been checked by them even two-and-a-half months after the day of the exam.
IN YET another proof of the callous attitude that some Allahabad University (AU) teachers sport towards their work, practical examination copies of around 250 students have not been checked by them even two-and-a-half months after the day of the exam.

Despite repeated reminders from the varsity's Controller Of Examinations, the marks have not been forwarded to his office till date resulting in a delay of about 10 days in the declaration of all the BSc-I results.
Upset over the carelessness of the half-a-dozen teachers concerned, the AU administration is now contemplating initiating disciplinary action against them that can even result in the guilty teachers being debarred from all examination related work in the future.
AU administration has so far declared the BSc-II, BSc-III as well as the BA-III results almost as per its set schedule.
However, the varsity has been unable to declare the results of BSc-I students due to the office of the Controller of Examinations not getting the marks of the practical exams of around 250 students of BSc-I (Computer Science).
Sources informed that all the heads of the departments had been informed right in February itself to make sure that the marks of the practical exams reach the Controller of Examinations' office as soon as possible after the conclusion exams.
Though the practical exams took place in March itself, the marks of the computer science students have not been forwarded by the teachers concerned till date.
Insiders claim that barring the Computer Science marks, all other subject marks have reached the Controller of Exams office and the BSc-I results too have been prepared.
The office is at the moment just waiting for the marks of these 250 students, most belonging to the BSc (Computer Science) course and some of the BSc (Applied Science) course, for declaration of the results. Sources say that the varsity administration does not want to declare practical BSc-I results as it may cause unnecessary anxiety and confusion among the students and parents concerned. On being contacted, AU Controller of Examinations Prof HS Upadhyaya confessed that his office is indeed awaiting the marks of the computer science practical exams of the BSc-I students. He also conceded that it was because of the delay in getting these marks that the BSc-I results have not yet been declared by the varsity.
Regarding possible action against teachers because of whom the results are getting delayed, Prof Upadhyaya said that only the Examination Committee has the power for that and could decide about it.
It is worth mentioning that a case of a science faculty professor too is still pending with the Examination committee for the past one year.
The professor had returned copies unchecked after keeping them with himself for around 70 days last year.
