Dubbed as a disciplined, honest and no-nonsense army man-turned-minister, Col. Ajay Mushran is today a force to reckon with in Madhya Pradesh.
Dubbed as a disciplined, honest and no-nonsense army man-turned-minister, Col. Ajay Mushran is today a force to reckon with in Madhya Pradesh. Regarded controversial by many for his blunt and frank approach, he has come up unscathed after every controversy that has surrounded him so far.At present the state Finance Minister, Mushran was born on 1st of July, 1933.He completed his Graduation in Arts from Mahakoshal College Jabalpur.
After doing his Master's degree in Arts from Allahabad University, he joined Indian Army in 1954 as Second Lieutenant. He fought Indo-Pak War in 1965. He was honoured with eight medals in recognition of his outstanding services in the Army. In 1973 he acquired the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He sought voluntary retirement from the Army when his father Shri Shyam Sundar Narayan Mushran died in 1980.
Appreciating his truthfulness, honesty and dedication, the Congress chose him to fight Assembly by elections from Narsinghpur constituency. He won the seat with a huge margin. Mushran was made Minister of State for Forest, Sports and Youth Welfare in June 29, 1981.Ajay Narayan Mushran has also been the chairman of National Ex-Servicemen Congress for last the eight years. After his election to the eleventh Assembly he was inducted to Digvijay Singh Cabinet as Minister for Finance.
