"The police management was very poor. My wife was ahead in the queue. We did not even realise that she had fallen. After the stampede, we desperately looked for her at hospitals, but we could not locate her. We found out about her death from a viral video," he told a television channel. More details.

Tirupati Stampede Live: Andhra Pradesh deputy CM Pawan Kalyan visited the hospital in Tirupati to meet those injured in the stampede, reports ANI.

Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu today visited the SVIMS hospital in Tirupati to meet the persons injured in the stampede, ANI reports.

Survivors of the deadly stampede at Tirupati that left six dead and nearly 40 injured recounted the horror of the incident on Thursday, saying that they thought they wouldn't survive the accident. "For five minutes, we thought all of us were dead. I have been coming to the temple for the past 25 years and it has never happened like this," D Venkata Lakshmi told a local news channel. Tirupati Stampede Live: Former minister of industries and commerce of Andhra Pradesh, Gudivada Amarnath, held the TDP government responsible for the loss of lives in the stampede at Tirupati, alleging that it was a total failure on the part of the administration and termed it as a black day in the history of the TTD.

"Incidents of stampedes never occurred before and the Chairman immediately after taking charge started giving political speeches which showed the intention of the coalition government," he said, according to ANI.

The Tirupati East Police have registered two separate FIRs following the deaths of multiple devotees during the Vaikunta Ekadasi celebrations in the temple town.

Six people died and 40 others have been injured in the stampede at the Tirupati Temple, ANI reported.

Vaikunta Dwara Darshan is scheduled to be held at the Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Temple from January 10 to 19. It allows devotees to pass through the sacred gate to receive Lord Venkateswara's blessings.

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Additional Executive Officer Venkayya Chowdary on early Thursday morning visited the Sri Venkateswara Ramnarayan Ruia Government General Hospital in Tirupati to meet those injured in a tragic stampede in Andra Pradesh a day earlier.

Six people were also killed.

Following a stampede at the Tirupati temple in Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday evening, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar expressed his condolences and prayers for the affected families and the injured.

Sharing a post on X, Jaishankar wrote, "Saddened by the unfortunate stampede at Tirupati Temple. Heartfelt condolences to the families who lost dear ones. Pray for the speedy recovery of the injured."

Union Ministers Bandi Sanjay Kumar and Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu expressed their grief over the demise of the individuals who lost their lives in a tragic stampede that occurred near Vishnu Nivasam in Andhra Pradesh's Tirupati, ANI reported.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed his condolences for the families of the deceased.

“Pained by the unfortunate incident of the stampede in the Tirupati temple. My sincerest condolences to the families of the deceased. May the injured recover at the earliest,” Shah wrote on X.

Tirupati SP L Subbarayudu visited Ruia Hospital to visit those injured in stampede.

BRS leader and former Telangana minister KT Rama Rao expressed his condolences on the tragedy.

“Saddened by the loss of lives in the stampede at Tirupati. My deepest condolences to the bereaved families. My thoughts and prayers are with those families who have lost their loved ones in this tragic mishap,” KTR said on X.

Andhra Pradesh Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy said that he, along with state Home Minister and Revenue Minister will reach Tirupati in the morning.

" An unfortunate incident occurred in Tirupati last night, ahead of Mukkoti Ekadashi Utsav with lakhs of devotees expected to attend the event, it is deeply saddening that six pilgrims lost their lives in the stampede. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has instructed us to make arrangements for the darshan of other pilgrims without hurting their sentiments. Following the Chief Minister's directions, Revenue Minister Anagani Satya Prasad, Home Minister Anitha, and I will reach Tirupati by tomorrow morning. We will take necessary measures and meet the families of the victims"
