Narendra Modi, who reached his home state late on Monday night, flew to Sardar Sarovar Dam in Kevadia. He visited the dam, which he inaugurated in 2017, at a time when its water levels have reached the highest mark of 138.68 metres for the first time.

Before that, the Prime Minister shared a video of the Statue of Unity in Kevadia of Narmada district. Modi had inaugurated the statue, billed as the tallest in the world, on the birth anniversary of India’ first home minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s on October 31 last year.

“Have a look at the majestic ‘Statue of Unity’, India’s tribute to the great Sardar Patel,” PM Modi tweeted along with a 1:30-minute video.

The Prime Minister’s Office also tweeted about his visit to several places in Kevadia.

“PM @narendramodi reviews tourism infrastructure at Kevadia. Here is a picture from the Jungle Safari area. Come, visit this beautiful land which is home to the iconic ‘Statue of Unity’,” PMO posted.

Modi also spent some time at the Khalvani Eco-Tourism site and a cactus garden in Kevadiya. He was accompanied by Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Vijay Rupani.

“At Kevadia there is a unique Cactus Garden, which PM @narendramodi is visiting. Don’t miss the Sardar Sarovar Dam in the background!”
