The man who chronicled Mahatma Gandhi

Narayan Desai, son of Mahadev Desai, has written a four-volume biography of Mahatma Gandhi titled "My Life is My Message." The biography draws heavily from Mahadev Desai's diaries, in which he recorded letters, speeches, conversations, and thoughts of the Mahatma during their 25-year association. Mahadev Desai's diaries, which are still being edited and published, offer an insight into Gandhi's mind and provide a comprehensive record of the events leading up to India's independence.
