Maharashtra polls: Eknath Shinde's Sena names Milind Deora as candidate against Aaditya Thackeray
A former Union minister who served in the Manmohan Singh-led UPA government, Milind Deora quit Congress and joined the Shiv Sena in January this year
The Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena on Sunday released its new list of 20 candidates for the upcoming Maharashtra elections.

The list features Milind Deora, who will contest against Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray in Worli. A former Union minister who served in the Manmohan Singh-led UPA government, Deora quit Congress and joined the Shiv Sena in January this year.
Sanjay Nirupam, a former Congress leader who quit the party and joined the Shiv Sena, is in poll fray from Dindoshi assembly seat, which falls under Mumbai North West Lok Sabha segment. The Dindoshi seat was established in 2008 after delimitation. It was represented by undivided Shiv Sena for the past 10 years.
Nilesh Rane, the son of Union minister Narayan Rane is the Shiv Sena candidate from Kudal seat. Zeeshan Siddiqui, the son of slain leader Baba Siddique who joined the NCP earlier in the day, has also been selected to run from Bandra East.
On October 23, the Shiv Sena released its first list of 45 candidates for the upcoming polls. The party had named chief minister Eknath Shinde as the candidate from Kopri-Pachpakhadi, a constituency he has represented since 2009.
The Shiv Sena is a member of the ruling Mahayuti alliance, also comprising the BJP and Ajit Pawar's NCP.
The Mahayuti alliance is pitted against the Maha Vikas Aghadi, comprising Congress, NCP(SP) and Shiv Sena (UBT).
Ajit Pawar's NCP releases new candidate list
The Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar faction) released their third list of candidates for the upcoming Maharashtra election. As per the list released, the new candidates are VijaySingh Pandit from the Gevrai constituency, Sachin Sudhakar Patil from the Phaltan, Dilipkaka Bankar from Niphad and Kashinath Daante from the Parner constituency.
Sana Malik, daughter of NCP leader Nawab Malik, will contest from the Anushakti Nagar constituency.
Elections to the 288-member Maharashtra assembly will be held on November 20. The counting of votes will take place on November 23.
