BJP hits at Congress, calls out INDI Alliance on disrespecting SCs, STs
On Saturday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) attacked Maharashtra Congress president Nana Patole, questioned Congress's intention, and alleged that the party and INDI Alliance are disrespecting SCs and STs of the society.

Intensifying his attack on the NDA government ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in the state, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy flagged the discrimination against southern states by the BJP and the intelligence failure to prevent the Pulwama incident.

"Financial, (if funds are given) based on population, I will accept. Whereas in political representation, why have you not given president or vice-president post or important portfolios to the south?" he said.

"Congress giving clean chit to Pakistan": BJP after Telangana CM doubts airstrikes on Pak terror camp
After Telangana Chief Minister Revnath Reddy raised fresh questions over the Pulwama terror attack in 2019, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday came down heavily on the Congress and said that the Congress party is questioning the "bravery" of the military and putting India under question on the issue of terrorism by giving "clean chit" to Pakistan.
BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla claimed that the Congress is getting "support" from Pakistan.
"Now it has been clear that these are not mere coincidences but well thought experiment the way Congress party is taking stands for Pakistan and terrorism and giving them the clean chit... Now, Revanth Reddy, the Telangana CM, is not only giving clean chit to Pakistan on Pulwama and alleging India but also questioning the surgical strike... In their attempt to oppose Modi, the Congress party is questioning the bravery of the military and putting India under question on the issue of terrorism by giving a clean chit to Pakistan. They are giving them a way to protect themselves at international forums from allegations of terrorism. Polarisation peaks in Krishnanagar campaign as Mahua Moitra battles to return to Lok Sabha
Homemaker Sushama Sarkar admitted without hesitation she didn’t know why Mahua Moitra was expelled from the Lok Sabha last year even as she watched the firebrand Trinamool Congress leader address a crowd of around 200 people at a roadside meeting near Gatra High School in the Chapra area of Krishnanagar constituency on Wednesday afternoon.
A heavy shower had just lashed parts of this Nadia district constituency which goes to the polls on May 13 along with seven other West Bengal seats. Three of these seats are located in Murshidabad and Naida districts that stand along the Bangladesh border where charges of infiltration are raised by Bharatiya Janata Party as a key issue in every election.
“For me, this is a fight for honour. Only you have the power to stop me from returning to Parliament, not Narendra Modi,” Moitra told the audience, alleging that the inquiry - ordered by the Lok Sabha Speaker after BJP accused her of compromising national security by sharing her Parliamentary portal password with an outsider - made her go through humiliation and insult.

Congress is anti-Hindu, says PM Modi; alleges it wants to make Hindus second-class citizens
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday called the Congress party anti-Hindu and said the grand-old party hates Hindus and wants to make them second-class citizens in their own country.
Addressing an election rally at Narayanpet in Telangana’s Mahabubnagar parliamentary constituency, Modi said the Congress hated Hindus and Hindu festivals so much. “This is becoming evident every day. Stating that the Congress had called him anti-national when he had visited the temple, Modi alleged that the Congress wants to make Hindus second-class citizens in their own country. “Do these people want to establish Aurangzeb's rule in India? Is this why they are talking about vote jihad?” he added.
He charged the Congress with dividing the country based on religion and caste. The Congress's real agenda is to appease certain communities for political gains, without considering the welfare of the nation. “The Congress is trying to give reservation based on religion to Muslims instead of SCs, STs and OBCs. The Congress knows that reservations based on religion are anti-constitutional. It also knows that Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar opposed it,” he said, adding no one could snatch the rights of weaker sections under Modi's guardianship.

Congress too made mistakes, will need to change its politics: Rahul Gandhi
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday said his party too has made mistakes and will have to change its politics in future.
The remark came at an event in Lucknow where he accused Narendra Modi of being a monarch and not a prime minister, calling him a front for "two-three financiers."
Answering a question from a member of the audience at the event on the Constitution, the former Congress president said he was “100 per cent” prepared to take on Narendra Modi in a debate, but he knew that the prime minister will not agree.
"The Congress party will also have to change its politics in the coming times. This will have to be done. I also want to say that the Congress party has also made mistakes and I am saying this while being from the Congress party," he said in his speech.
However, he did not elaborate on what “change” he felt the Congress needed.

BJD in Odisha detached from ground realities, oblivious to people's grievances: PM Modi
Accusing the Biju Janata Dal of being "oblivious to people's grievances" and detached from the ground realities, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Odisha will support the BJP in "record numbers" in the Assembly and Lok Sabha polls in the state.
"While our Government has done extensive work, BJD is totally detached from the ground realities and is oblivious to people's grievances. They have totally misunderstood the great culture and ethos of Odisha. No wonder Bhubaneswar and Odisha will support the BJP in record numbers," PM Modi said in a series of posts on X.
After holding a roadshow in Bhubaneswar on Friday, PM Modi said that the BJP government at the Centre had worked to improve the education sector in Odisha.

No “netagiri”, it's “matagiri” for Maneka Gandhi in Sultanpur
A group of over 100 motorcycles welcomes the BJP’s Sultanpur MP Maneka Gandhi about five kilometres from Gauravpur (Sultanpur) where a crowd of nearly 500-1000 waits for her to address a public meeting at a girls’ college.
After reaching the venue, she reads out a list of all the village pradhans and other important persons of the area, greeting each one with a “pranam”.
At every public meeting, the eight-time MP begins her address by speaking about the time when she came to Sultanpur to contest the Lok Sabha election five years ago and how the people may have been apprehensive thinking that a leader like her would indulge in “netagiri” (work as a leader) and not take care of them. She has represented Sultanpur and Aonla once each and Pilibhit six times in the Lok Sabha.
“You all now know that I do “netagiri” (leadership work) out of Sultanpur. It's “matagiri” (work as a mother) inside Sultanpur,” she tells them.
