India digital transformation in focus as Jaishankar, Pichai meet
The tech giant boss and the Union Minister spoke on global developments and digitalisation.
A day after he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Google CEO Sundar Pichai on Tuesday met Foreign Minister S Jaishankar. The tech giant boss and the Union Minister spoke on global developments and digitalisation. "Great to meet CEO, @Google and Alphabet, @sundarpichai today afternoon. Discussed India’s digital transformation and global strategic developments. (sic)," Jaishankar tweeted post the meeting.

On Monday, Pichai had met the Prime Minister and discussed with him a gamut of issues, including India G20 presidency. “Thank you for a great meeting today PM @narendramodi. Inspiring to see the rapid pace of technological change under your leadership," he wrote on Twitter.
"Look forward to continuing our strong partnership and supporting India's G20 presidency to advance an open, connected internet that works for all," he further said. India took over the G20 presidency on December 1 from Indonesia and it has been hailed as a big responsibility by the government.
In response to PM's tweet, Modi wrote: “Was a delight to meet you @sundarpichai and discuss innovation, technology and more. It is important the world continues to work together to leverage tech for human prosperity and sustainable development.”
Pichai also addressed the Google India event on Monday. “If you take example of the US, the reason start-ups are successful is when they create something they have an access to 300 million something market,” he asserted while addressing the event.
“It is easier to create something which scales across the country. In India, you need to scale across the entire country. there is no better time to create a start-up than the current moment,” he added.
