Speaking on the occasion, she said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had become disconnected from the reality and there was no one to show him the truth.

“He is getting away from the people; he goes to the people when he needs to tell them something,” she said.

“But the fact remains that he does not in turn want to listen to the people,” she said asking the PM to visit at least one village of his constituency and meet the people. “He should go and ask the people about the achievements of his government in the last five years, he will get the truth,” she said.

Any government or any politician who has no time to hear the people out has no right to stay in power, she said.

She said no development had taken place in the last five years and the BJP government ran a sustained propaganda to paint a rosy picture to mislead people. “The situation is like a patient in a hospital who doesn’t feel good despite being given medicines.”

The Congress leader began her road show from Shastri Park after she garlanded the statue of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri. With people lined up on both sides of the road and rose petals being showered from roof tops, she connected with the people and allowed young girls to take selfies with her.
