Man throws acid on minor girl in Bihar
The victim’s grandmother and sisters were also injured in the attack. Police are hunting for the accused.
A man allegedly threw acid on a minor girl with whom he was reportedly involved in an illicit relationship in Bihar’s East Champaran district on Friday night.

The victim, who suffered burns on her face and hands, is out of danger, said Dr Manoj Kumar, superintendent of Motihari Sadar hospital, where she is undergoing treatment.
Earlier, the girl had claimed that the accused — a distant relative — threw acid when she resisted his attempts to rape her, but changed her statement later, said Vinod Kumar Singh, Harsiddhi police station house officer.
In an FIR, the girl said she was in a relationship with the man for the last three-four months. He threw acid as she was pressurising him to marry her.
Singh said the girl’s grandmother and two sisters were also injured in the attack.
This is the third acid attack to occur in Champaran over the last few months. On March 18, Sunil Kumar and his brother, Amit Kumar, were attacked with acid over a land dispute at Khiriyaghat village. A month later, on April 22, a woman was attacked with acid by her relatives for a similar reason at Akauni village in East Champaran.
