But after Thursday midnight, your old high-value banknotes won’t be good for buying anything.

After Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes on November 8, government had allowed a few public service and retail outlets to continue accepting the old notes.

You can always exchange your old notes at banks till December 30.

Unless the Ministry of Finance decides to extend the deadline, you’ve only got till midnight to spend as much cash as you can:

1. Buy milk and vegetables at Mother Dairy and Safal outlets in Delhi.

2. Book rail and air tickets now if a vacation is on cards

3.Do your groceries at Kendriya Bhandar but remember to carry a self-attested copy of a valid identity proof

4.Get a full tank at the nearest petrol pump. But go with time at hand as long queues are likely

5.If you are getting your LPG cylinder today, you’ll be lucky. Pay for it with old notes

6.Plan an outing with family at a historical monument. Archaeological Survey of India allows you to buy entry tickets but loose change at the counter may be scarce

7.Pay your water and electricity bills or property tax. Clear your arrears

8.Government and private pharmacies will also accept the banned notes for medicines

9. Government hospitals will also accept old notes.

10. You can use your old Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes while travelling in metro rail.
