The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that heatwave conditions are likely to continue across several Indian states, including Maharashtra, Bihar, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and Delhi-NCR, for the next few days. The IMD stated that temperatures may rise in Punjab and Haryana over the next two days before abating. Maharashtra has already seen temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius in more than 10 districts, with 11 people dying due to sunstroke during an event in Navi Mumbai. West Bengal has been forecast to experience heatwave conditions until 19 April.
