Highlights | Haryana Jat rally: Internet services restored, situation remains peaceful in state
The overall situation in Haryana remained peaceful despite two parallel rallies of Jats and non-Jats. Internet blockade has also been restored in the state.
With Haryana witnessing two parallel rallies of Jat leader Yashpal Malik and BJP MP Raj Kumar Saini in Rohtak and Jind on Sunday, respectively, the situation in state remained peaceful. Fearing clashes, the Haryana government had requested for 25 companies of Central paramilitary forces.

Mobile internet and SMS services, which were suspended in 11 districts of the state to control rumours and exchange of inflammatory messages, have been restored.
The administration had imposed Section 144 of the CrPC barring assembly of more than four people at a public place in the neighbouring Sonepat and Charkhi Dadri districts.
Here are the highlights of the day:
7:00 pm: Internet services restored in 11 districts of Haryana.
4: 30 pm: Jats warn to choke Delhi with tractors if their pending demands of reservation and withdrawal of cases not fulfilled till December. AIJASS to hold meeting on December 3 to announce future course of action.
2:40 pm: Union minister Birender Singh and BJP’s Premlata (his wife) extend support to the Jat quota demand.
2:20 pm: Meanwhile, BJP MP Raj Kumar Saini reaches the rally venue in Jind.
1:18 pm: Wrestling coach Mahavir Singh Phogat at the rally. He also extends support.
1:16pm: Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) extends support to Jat rally in Rohtak. Leader of opposition in Haryana Abhay Chautala reaches rally venue with former MLAs.
1:12 pm: Supporters of self-styled godman Rampal throng Yashpal Malik’s rally.
1:01 pm People en route for Rohtak rally not being charged at the Makrauli toll plaza. This is the same toll plaza which was vandalised during the Jat agitation in February 2016.
12:57 pm: National Highway 71-A, the road between Rohtak and Panipat, closed.
12:52 pm: All India Jat Arakshan Sangharsh Samiti (AIJASS) president Yashpal Malik’s rally to begin shortly in Rohtak.

12:19 pm: Raj Kumar Saini likely to arrive at the venue by 2 pm.
12:15 pm: People from Kurukshetra, Kaithal and other Saini community-dominated areas start arriving at the venue of Raj Kumar Saini’s rally.
11:45 am: No law and order problem reported in Haryana’s Jind where BJP MP Raj Kumar Saini is scheduled to hold a rally.
9:40 am: Jats protesting against Saini’s rally in Jind had clashed with the police on Friday, after which cops resorted to lathicharge and arrested four men for pelting stones.
9:15 am: In Sonepat and Charkhi Dadri districts, Section 144 of the CrPC barring assembly of more than four people at a public place remains imposed.

8:40 am: Security beefed up in parts of the state in view of the opposition both leaders have been facing from various sections of the society. In Rohtak, the police have advised commuters to avoid travelling via NH-71 A (Rohtak-Gohana) .
8:25 am: Haryana had earlier requested for 25 companies of Central Paramilitary forces. The state government also cancelled leaves of police officials.
