The CBI asked Chowdary to appear before its Bengaluru office on Friday for questioning on the alleged default in payment of ₹71 crore to Andhra Bank by Best and Crompton Engineering Projects Limited, a Chennai-based company promoted by Chowdary.
The CBI had registered a case against the company in 2017 and named company managing director K Srinivas Kalyan Rao and four other directors as accused. They were charged with criminal conspiracy, cheating and forgery among others.
