Congress poses 10 questions to BJP, calls it ‘betrayal of mandate’
Congress’s chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said in a tweet, “This is called the betrayal of people’s mandate and giving a contract for killing democracy.” Surjewala also tagged media reports on Ajit Pawar’s role in various scams.
Following the huge political coup in Maharashtra on Saturday morning in which BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis took oath as chief minister and the NCP’s Ajit Pawar as deputy chief minister, the Congress has thrown ten questions at the BJP calling it “a betrayal of people’s mandate”. The ongoing political crisis in Maharashtra came to an abrupt end in the early hours of Saturday as Fadnavis took oath as CM for the second time, backed by a section of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

Senior Congress leader Abhishek Singhvi too expressed surprise at the latest political developments in Maharashtra and said the Congress-NCP-Shiv Sena talks took too long as the window was grabbed by “fast movers”.
“Surreal what I read about Maharashtra. Thought it was fake news. Candidly and personally speaking, our tripartite negotiations should not have gone on for more than 3 days...took too long. Window given was grabbed by fast movers,” Singhvi said in a tweet.
Some of the questions which the Congress threw at the Bharatiya Janata Party were:
How many NCP MLA’s support Devendra Fadnavis? How did the Governor verify the support letter at night? Exactly what time was the President’s rule revoked? When did the BJP decide that Central rule would be revoked and a government would be formed?
Surjewala also said that the BJP had scared an “opportunist” like Ajit Pawar to act as a “contract killer” of democracy.
The Congress questioned the BJP about the time when the Union Cabinet could have possibly met, the ministers present at that meeting and at what time did they tell the Maharashtra Governor to remove Central Rule. Questions were also raised on why no one, including the Maharashtra Chief Justice was invited. With the exception of one private news channel, no other media representatives were present at the swearing in ceremony at Raj Bhawan.
