Meanwhile, the Lander Module of Chandrayaan-3 – with the lander Vikram and rover Pragyan – has been searching for the 'perfect spot' for landing after completing all the necessary orbiting and deboosting maneuvers around the Moon.
A two-way communication was established between Chandrayaan-3's Lander Module and Chandrayaan-2's Orbiter (the second edition of India's Moon mission launched in 2019) on Monday, according to ISRO. “‘Welcome, buddy!’ Ch-2 orbiter formally welcomed Ch-3 LM. Two-way communication between the two is established. MOX has now more routes to reach the LM,” ISRO wrote on X.
Chandrayaan-2's lander was unable to successfully touch down on the lunar surface and lost communication in September 2019 after reaching an altitude as close as 2.1 km.
Meanwhile, a senior ISRO scientist was quoted by a news agency ANI on Monday, saying, “If any factors appear to be unfavourable, then we will postpone the module's landing on the Moon to August 27.”

Chandrayaan 3 LIVE updates: What is Moon's geological history and evolution? In other words, how old it is, and when/how did it form?
The Moon is estimated to be about 4.5 billion years old, roughly the same age as the Earth. The leading theory about the Moon's formation suggests that a Mars-sized celestial body collided with the young Earth, and the debris from this collision eventually coalesced to form the lunar body. However, current geological evidence from Moon suggests that it may be younger by just 60 million years compared to Earth, said Dr. TV Venkateswaran taking to PTI.
