CBI notice to Satyapal Malik in insurance case; ‘Exposed sins…’
Satyapal Malik alleged that when he was the governor of J&K, he was offered a bribe of ₹300 crore to clear two files.
Former J&K governor Satyapal Malik has been issued a notice in connection with an insurance scam by the CBI. The case was reported by Satyapal Malik and the agency wants certain clarifications, the former J&K governor said. Satyapal Malik told PTI that the CBI has asked for his presence at the agency's Akbar Road guesthouse for "certain clarifications".

While the former Governor has been in the news because of an interview where he made certain claims about the Pulwama terror attack, this is not the first time that Malik has been called by the CBI in connection with this case.
In April last year, the CBI lodged two FIRs over corruption allegations levelled by Malik in the awarding of contracts for a group medical insurance scheme for government employees and civil work worth ₹2,200 crore related to the Kiru hydroelectric power project in Jammu and Kashmir.
Malik's claims over Pulwama have invited criticism from the Congress which linked the CBI notice to his interview. "After all, PM Modi could not help it. Satyapal Malik ji exposed him in front of the country. Now CBI has called Malikji. This had to happen..." the Congress tweeted.
Satyapal Malik earlier alleged that he was offered a bribe of ₹300 crore to clear two files when he was the governor of J&K. These were the files for awarding contracts for a group medical insurance scheme for government employees. The CBI had booked Anil Ambani's Reliance General Insurance Company and Trinity Re-Insurance Brokers Limited.
Country stands with you: Arvind Kejriwal
Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal who is facing CBI investigation in the liquor case said the enite country stands with Satyapal Malik. "You have shown great courage in these times of fear, sir. He a coward hiding begind the CBI. Whenever there was a crisis on this great country, people like you faced it with courage..." Kejriwal tweeted.
After the CBI notice, Satyapal Malik said he will not get frightened by the notice. "I have exposed the sins of some people by speaking the truth. Maybe that's why the call (CBI) has come. I am the son of a farmer, I will not be frightened. I stand by the truth," Malik tweeted.
