You think you’re an Avengers Infinity War fan? This guy watched it 44 times (and counting)
Tony “Nem” Mitchell has set himself a challenge: He will watch Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War every day until it is taken out of theatres. He just finished round 44.
A popular YouTuber has vowed to watch Avengers: Infinity War, the 19th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, every day until it is removed from theatres. Tony “Nem” Mitchell has already seen the superhero epic 44 times, and is pumped about his 45th round.

“I’m going to watch it as many times as possible,” Mitchell told Polygon. “It might not be everyday, but I want to support Marvel and the Russo brothers.”
Instead of just pirating the movie and watching it at home, Mitchell says he wants to support the filmmakers and help push Infinity War over the $2 billion mark at the box office - which it is just $30 million away from.
The average movie ticket price in the USA, according to the National Association of Theatre Owners, is $8.73 (Rs 590). By this measure, Mitchell would have spent approximately $428 on Infinity War tickets, which amounts to Rs 28000. And considering the fact that Marvel’s Black Panther is till being screened in US theatres - it was released in February - Infinity War’s theatrical run can be expected to last at least two more months.
There are threads on Reddit whose sole purpose is to calculate how much longer it will take Infinity War to cross the $2 billion mark, and many more times they’d have to watch it to get it over that bridge. Only three films have achieved this milestone so far -- Avatar, Titanic and Star War: The Force Awakens.
“There are ways to support a movie that are economically feasible for everyone,” Mitchell said. “I just want to do this.” He’s been tweeting daily about his Infinity War odyssey, and on the 42nd viewing, he said he’d found the meaning of life, the universe and everything - a reference that fans of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy would recognise.
