Eminem has teased fans with a snippet of his theme song from the upcoming anti-hero film, Venom, starring Tom Hardy.

Eminem on Thursday surprised fans by dropping a new album without any announcement. The album, titled Kamikaze, also happens to feature the official theme song for the upcoming anti-hero film, Venom. Eminem teased a 15-second clip from the song on his social media accounts.

Tom Hardy has said that he has signed on to play Venom in a three-picture deal.

The album features 13 songs, once of which is the Venom track. Kamikaze has been produced by Dr Dre and ‘Slim Shady’ - Eminem’s alter ego.

According to a report on IGN, the song contains many references to the film, but the opening lines could possibly be the most direct reference to the film’s plot, in which the parasitic symbiote called Venom latches on to reporter Eddie Brock - “When the world gives you a raw deal, sets you off till you scream ‘piss off, screw you,’ when it talks to you like you don’t belong... when something’s in your mind... cause it latched onto you.”

The report continues to note that the song’s chorus repeats the word ‘venom’ continuously. “Knock knock let the devil in, alien... phone home, ain’t no telling when this chokehold on this game will end, I’m loco, became a symbiote, so my veins are in your throat...”

The film, starring Tom Hardy in the title role, is a spinoff of Spider-Man. Originally intended as an extension of the Tobey Maguire Spidey series — Venom was debuted in Spider-Man 3, and was played in that film by Topher Grace. Plans for the film fell apart when Sony’s Spidey series was halted. Spider-Man was introduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, while Sony moved ahead with their own Marvel Universe series, which will begin with Venom.

It has been reported that Tom Holland’s Spidey appearing in the Sony series remains a possibility, because Sony still owns the rights to the character.

Venom, directed by Ruben Fleischer, has been scheduled for an October 5 release.
