DiCaprio wins another award for The Revenant, inches closer to Oscar
Best actor at the 22nd annual Screen Actors Guild Awards went to Leonardo DiCaprio for The Revenant, adding to the drum beat expected to culminate with the 41-year-old star’s first Oscar. Brie Larson, the star of the captive mother-son daughter drama Room, won the award for best actress.

Alicia Vikander took best supporting actress for The Danish Girl. One of Hollywood’s biggest events of the season was held at the Los Angeles Shrine Auditorium.
The newspaper drama Spotlight, badly in need of some Oscar momentum, bagged the top honor.
The award for best supporting actor went to Idris Elba for Beasts of No Nation. Elba was one of the most notable black actors overlooked by the Academy Awards, which instead fielded all-white acting nominees.
Veteran actor Carol Burnett was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award. The 82-year-old actress was given the award by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler which became the highlight of the night.
