The news that Oscar winner, Hollywood actor Ben Affleck will play Batman in the Man Of Steel sequel, has not gone down well with Batman fans world over, who took to social networking sites on Friday to slam director Zack Snyder for choosing Affleck for the role.
“In the Ben Affleck version, Batman’s parents kill themselves,” tweeted @Chasemit. “Wait, Ben Affleck gets to be in 2 comic book movies? And he’s won two Academy Awards! And he’s dated two Jennifers! He must be two-face! (sic),” wrote @ComicJunkie87. A Facebook post read, “Woke up to the news that Ben Affleck will play Batman in the new movie. Not the best of starts to a Friday morning, that.” Over 10,000 fans even signed an online petition asking Snyder to drop Affleck from the film.
Meanwhile, Snyder explained his choice, saying, “Ben bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retains the charm of billionaire Bruce Wayne. I can’t wait to work with him.”
