Avengers Endgame India box office day 2: Marvel film shatters records, makes ₹100 crore in two days
Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame is rewriting record books, shattering records at the India box office, and has made more than ₹100 crore in two days of release.
Avengers: Endgame has made ₹100 crore in two days of release in India, trade analyst Taran Adarsh has said. The film opened to ₹53 crore on Friday, and added ₹51 crore on day two, for a total of ₹104.5 crore.

Adarsh wrote on Twitter, “#AvengersEndgame is rewriting record books... Puts up a HISTORIC total on Day 2... Eyes ₹ 150 cr+ weekend... No biggie from *Hindi* film industry has achieved the target so far... Fri 53.10 cr, Sat 51.40 cr. Total: ₹ 104.50 cr Nett BOC. India biz. Gross BOC: ₹ 124.40 cr.”
He pointed out that the film’s theatre count (2845 screens) is a fraction of what the biggest Hindi films are released in. “#AvengersEndgame shatters the myth that a massive screen count is the key to collect big numbers on Day 1/weekend... #AvengersEndgame has released in 2845 screens, but its occupancy is much, much higher than *Hindi* biggies that open in 4000+ screens,” he wrote.
The film registered the second biggest opening of all time in India, after Baahubali: The Conclusion’s ₹121 crore debut, and just ahead of Aamir Khan’s Thugs of Hindostan, which still holds the record for the biggest single day in Hindi film history, with ₹52.25 crore.

“The unimaginable craze for #AvengersEndgame only goes to prove, yet again, that the moviegoers are willing to dig into their wallets/purses and shell out exorbitant money for tickets *if* the film is worth it... The charm of watching a film on big screen will never fade,” Adarsh continued.
Endgame is headed to a record breaking $1 billion global opening weekend, with an estimated $350 million opening weekend in the US - this is almost $100 million ahead of Infinity War’s $257 million opening weekend in 2018.
The Walt Disney Co. says domestically the film opened Friday with a record $156.7 million (including Thursday previews), besting Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($119 million in 2015, though it played on fewer screens) and Avengers: Infinity War ($106 million in 2018).
Outside the US, Avengers: Endgame broke another record by grossing an estimated $487 million at the end of Friday, surpassing The Fate of the Furious aka Fast & Furious 8 ($443 million in 2017).
The Marvel Comics superhero film also broke the record for the highest opening weekend globally of all time with $644 million at the end of Friday. The previous record holder was Infinity War with $641 million.
