Avengers Endgame box office predictions: The film is expected to witness a record-breaking opening of around ₹50 crore. But will it be able to beat the opening weekend record currently held by Baahubali: The Conclusion. Read on.

Avengers: Endgame, the 22nd film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is all set to release in India on April 26 and is expected to open to packed theatres. The advance booking for the film had begun on Sunday, April 21 and has already broken several box office records. The film is expected to open in India at around 50 crores in all languages.

Film and trade business analyst Girish Johar told Hindustan Times, “The craze for the film is huge not only in India but all across the globe. Also the reviews which are flowing in from other countries are extremely good. The feedback is very good and almost every one wants to watch the film.”

As to whether the film will break the weekend box office record of South blockbuster Baahubali: The Conclusion, he is not so sure. Baahubali collected around 335 crore nett (all languages) in its first weekend. “In all probability, the film will be in top three grossers in India,” he said.

Endgame will release around 2600 screens in India. The advance booking of tickets for the film in India recorded sale of over 1 million tickets in one day with a peak of 18 tickets per second, as reported by online ticketing platform BookMyShow. With the tickets being sold at much hiked prices, the chances of the film breaking some major box office records in India look certain.

According to a report in Boxofficeindia.com, the film sold half a million tickets in a few hours in India which is much higher than last year’s Bollywood release Thugs of Hindostan. The Aamir Khan-Amitabh Bachchan starrer had recorded the third highest pre-sales of all time with around 27.50 crore nett.

The film will also beat the advance ticket booking record of Avengers: Infinity War of which it is a direct sequel. The 2018 film had collected around 28 crore nett from advance tickets.

Film critic Taran Adarsh has also confirmed a magnificent release for the film. Calling it a never seen before achievement, he tweeted, “#AvengersEndgame advance booking is unheard of, unimaginable and unprecedented... Much, much better than several #Hindi biggies that opened in 2018 and 2019... Eyes a record-breaking, historic start in #India... Dear BO records, get ready to be smashed and shattered!”

However, multiple camera-recorded prints of Avengers: Endgame have leaked online. Robert Downey Jr has requested on Twitter, “Cap knows best... Keep those spoilers to yourself..”

Earlier, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt’s multi-starrer Kalank was expected to give competition to Avengers: Endgame in its second week but the Bollywood film already seems to be on its death bed with collections of around 72 crore, as updated by BollywoodHungama.com. Girish confirmed that the film will not be able to enter the 100 crore club and remains far from reaching its budget mark of 150 crores.
