Khattar directs Huda to update land record, safeguard authority land
Haryana chief minister directed the Haryana Urban Development Authority to prepare a detailed list of land owned by the authority after it came to his notice that it did not have proper land revenue records
Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday directed the Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) to prepare a detailed list of land owned by the authority after it came to his notice that it did not have proper land revenue records.

Khattar also said that details of land for which compensation has been paid but possession has not happened should also be prepared.
The CM was chairing the district grievance committee meeting where the matter had been listed.
The matter of encroachment on Huda land was raised by Gurgaon MLA Umesh Agarwal who alleged that large chunks of land belonging to the agency have been encroached upon across Gurgaon and that the urban authority in many cases does not have proper revenue records. “I raised the matter with the CM as a number of road projects are stuck because officials did not take possession of the land,” said Agarwal.
After hearing the matter, Khattar said that all records of Huda land in Gurgaon should be updated. He also said that the land has to be fenced and signboards have to be put up marking it as government land. He also directed that encroachment be removed from the paths from Sector 12 to Mianwali Colony and sectors 4 and 5 and get roads constructed there.
Meanwhile, Huda administrator Hardeep Singh said that 380 civil writ petitions related to such land were pending in the high court. He also said that the authority has identified certain instances people have not taken possession of their land and action would be initiated on priority.
In the past, Huda’s poor management of land revenue records has been a serious cause of concern. In a recent meeting, the chief administrator of Huda had said that estate officers did not
have proper land inventory. The data base is not updated and certified. As the custodian of Huda land, every estate officer must have the details of all acquired land, which is planned or in the form of unplanned pockets. It was also observed that acquired land is not entered in the revenue records by way of mutations.
