Kenyan woman ‘gang-raped’ in Gurugram, three detained
Police said the woman was waiting for a cab at Bristol Chowk on MG Road when three men in a white Scorpio offered to drop her to her residence in Chattarpur, Delhi.
A 30-year-old Kenyan was allegedly gang-raped by five men in Gurugram on Wednesday night.

Police said the woman was waiting for a cab at Bristol Chowk on MG Road after a party when three men in a white Scorpio offered to drop her to her residence in Chattarpur, Delhi. Once inside, the three – all in the age group of 24-30 years – began misbehaving with her. They then forcibly took her to a makeshift shelter on Gold Course Extension road, where two other accomplices lay in wait.
The victim alleged that the five gang-raped her before leaving her on an isolated stretch of Gurugram. While police have detained three of the accused, two others are still at large.
“The detainees hail from Ghata and Behrampur villages in Gurugram. While two of them work for a water tanker company, the third is unemployed. We are trying to trace the other two, including the owner of the Scorpio,” said deputy commissioner of police (east) Kuldeep Yadav.
Gurugram police spokesperson Ravinder Kumar said all the five were in an inebriated state at the time of the incident. “The victim could not make out where she was being taken because she was not familiar with the roads here. The medical examination was done at the Gurugram Civil Hospital,” he added.
Arvind Kumar, SHO of the sector 55/56 police station, said a case has been registered under section 376-D (gang rape) of the Indian Penal Code.
The number of rape cases in Gurugram rose from 131 in 2016 to 135 the following year. The number of molestation cases also increased from 272 to 303 in the same period.
