An IT engineer working in a company in Gurgaon, was killed after a truck-trailer hit his car near Ambience Mall on the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway when he was on his way home from work on Saturday early morning.

The driver of the truck, who fled from the spot of the accident, has been arrested, police said.
The truck trailer hit the engineer’s car from the opposite direction after breaking the road divider and the iron grill.
Arun Singla (36), the victim, was a resident of Delhi’s Lajwanti Garden, Mayapuri and was returning home after completing his night duty. He is survived by his mother, wife and a two-and-half-year-old son.
Nitesh Bansal, brother-in-law of the victim, said that he witnessed the accident as he was also returning home from work at the same time and he was driving his Alto car close to Singla’s car.
According to Bansal, the accident took place near Ambience Mall at around 5:45 am.
“We left our office at Suncity in Sector 54 at around 5.15am. After crossing Rajokri, a trailer coming from Delhi side suddenly hit Singla’s car. The iron rod from the iron grill damaged Singla’s car and he was injured. I rushed towards his car and took him out of it. Then, I took him in my car to a government hospital in Gurgaon. He was declared dead by the doctors at the hospital,” said Bansal, a resident of Sector 61, Noida.
The truck allegedly came from the wrong side of the road which is why the accident occurred, claimed Bansal.
A case has been registered under section 279 (rash driving) and 304A (causing death by negligence) of Indian Penal Code at Udyog Vihar police station.
The accused driver Lila Ram (38) was arrested by the police. The trailer was registered in Rajasthan.
“After verifying the facts and looking carefully at the pieces of evidence, we arrested the driver of the truck who had fled from the spot,” said ASI Mahender Singh, Udyog Vihar police station.
Police confirmed Ram was driving beyond the prescribed speed limit and he lost control of the vehicle as a result the trailer collided with the iron grills and hit Singla’s car on other side of the expressway.
