After the news of the demolition spread, hundreds of Muslim community members camped at the site on Tuesday. They have planned to remain there throughout the night on rotation basis till they are assured that action will be taken by the authorities.

Talking about his meeting with Wajahat Habibullah chairperson National Commission for Minorities, Khan said he has been assured of quick action. “Habibullah had invited us for a meeting. He said that the commission will seek an explanation from the chief minister, Huda administrator and the deputy commissioner of Gurgaon soon,” said Khan.

A meeting was also held with Shiv Bhatia, the media advisor to the CM. “He seemed non-committal and argued that it was an illegal construction. But said that he will get back after he has a report from various departments,” added Khan.

Members of parliament from different constituencies of Kashmir have also promised cooperation and will be joining the protest soon in support of the Chauma Masjid Intezamia Committee.

Meanwhile, hundreds of people gathered at the site to protest against Huda’s act. These were mostly residents from Dundahera, Kapashera and nearby villages.
