Despite appointment, Huda chief has no time for residents
Representatives of resident welfare associations (RWAs) of Sector 15 and Sector 4 were left waiting outside the Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) administrator Praveen Kumar’s office on Monday for more than an hour.
Representatives of resident welfare associations (RWAs) of Sector 15 and Sector 4 were left waiting outside the Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) administrator Praveen Kumar’s office on Monday for more than an hour.

The administrator failed to meet them at the appointed time as he had left the city for some work without providing prior information.
“We had sent countless number of letters to the administration on various civic issues but no action was taken. Therefore, we decided to take up the issues with the administrator directly,” said JN Yadav, RWA president, Sector 4. “However, if the administrator is also busy, we would appreciate if someone else takes up the initiative,” he added.
Both sectors are a host to numerous problems pertaining to sanitation, encroachment of footpaths, broken buildings in the community, potholes, groundwater problems, water harvesting issues and encroachment of parks to construct petrol pumps to name a few.
Ramesh Vashisht, RWA president, Sector 15, said, “We have written 10 letters and an agenda for discussions was drafted on various issues and submitted on February 27. Speed-breakers and road indicators are the only two issues that have been taken care of by the administration but the rest remain unchecked.”
Residents of Sector 15 are up in arms against the proposed petrol pump on a green belt adjoining National Highway-8.
“When the CNG pump came up, 50-60 trees had been cut. The forest department officer, Devender Rao, had promised us that 200 trees will be planted as compensation but these were only false promises,” said Raghav, secretary of the Sector-15 RWA.
