Bold, edgy boxer-braids for those who don’t shy away from experimenting

Forget milkmaid braids and fishtails. It’s boxer braids that have become a rage on Instagram with the most fashion forward women rocking the style.

Inspired by the traditional African cornrows braiding, the style is now a favourite of celebs such as Kim Kardashian and Katy Perry, who have been flaunting this look.

Recently, Bollwyood actor Sonakshi Sinha also went for the tough and tomboy-perfect style. Hairstylist say it’s a great look for those who don’t shy away from experimenting. “The boxer-braid is just perfect for those who are bold and edgy. Our clients are in love with the boxer-braid look this season,” says hairstylist Rod Anker.

This style is a great choice for monsoon, when you want to keep your hair way from your face. “With athletic chic being so in, it’s a stylish way to keep your hair neatly tied up in monsoon,” says hairstylist Jawed Habib. However, make sure you style your look well. “If not styled in the correct way, you might end up looking funny,” warns Habib.

Boxer chic is back

As the name suggests, the hairstyle is inspired by female boxers. “Hilary Swank’s character in Million Dollar Baby had made the style a rage. With Sonakshi Sinha trying it out, I’m sure the style will have many more folowers” says hairstylist Jawed Habib.
