Over 7,500 trees cut for 16-km section of Delhi-Dehradun Expressway: RTI response
Nearly 7,575 trees have been cut down for the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, with 1.76 lakh to be planted as compensation. The project aims to reduce travel time between Delhi and Dehradun to two-and-a-half hours, costing ₹12,000 crore. Special provisions include wildlife safety features, tunnels, underpasses, bridges, and road infrastructure.
