Microplastics may pose risk to Indo-Gangetic plain: Study
Researchers have found microplastic pollution in the Ganga and Yamuna rivers, with higher concentrations during the wet season. The study suggests creating an action plan to address this issue. Published in the 'Journal of Hazardous Materials', the research identifies plastic leakage-prone areas and highlights the risk posed by high-hazard polymers. The study was led by CSIR-NIO principal scientist Dr Mahua Saha.
