March 2024 warmest ever, 12-month average temperature reaches new record
The world experienced its warmest March on record due to El Nino and human-caused climate change, marking the 10th consecutive month of record-breaking temperatures. The global average temperature was 1.68 degrees Celsius higher than the 1850-1900 average. Scientists warn that urgent reductions in greenhouse gas emissions are needed to prevent further warming and mitigate the impacts of climate change.
