Priyamani, asked about The Family Man 2’s Lonavala mystery, says ‘Aap Chellam sir se poochiye’

Priyamani commented on the unresolved ‘Lonavala mein kya hua tha (what happened in Lonavala)’ mystery in The Family Man 2. She offered two answers, one of which suggested that Chellam sir, the character played by Uday Mahesh, might be able to offer some insight.

One of the burning questions of The Family Man 2 was what exactly happened between Priyamani’s character Suchi and Sharad Kelkar’s character Arvind during an office trip to Lonavala.

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Priyamani said, “See, I can give you two answers. One is, ‘Whatever happens in Lonavala, stays in Lonavala.’ The second one would be, ‘Aap Chellam sir se poochiye. Shayad Chellam sir ko pata hoga (Ask Chellam sir, maybe he knows the answer).’ Because Chellam sir knows everything. So, whichever you want to pick, you can pick.”

The Family Man, an Amazon Prime Video series created by filmmakers Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, better known as Raj and DK, features Manoj Bajpayee as Srikant Tiwari, a man juggling between the pressure of his demanding job as a spy and domestic life.

Priyamani said that the team of The Family Man 2 thought that the point of discussion would be the terrorists that Srikant takes on. “But never in our minds we thought that Lonavala ka discussion itna bada ho jayega (would become such a major talking point). I think it’s as big or even bigger than ‘Why did Kattappa kill Baahubali?’” she said.

Priyamani said that she has been flooded with messages, and is asked two things -- to reveal the Lonavala mystery and to disclose what she wanted to tell Manoj’s character at the end of the show. The second season ended with her character, Suchi, on the verge of coming clean to Srikant about what actually unfolded on the trip.
