Asha Bhosle aces Hrithik Roshan's Ek Pal Ka Jeena move on India's Best Dancer, watch

Singer Asha Bhosle will be seen shaking a leg on dance reality show, India's Best Dancer in an upcoming episode.

Veteran singer Asha Bhosle will be the next guest on dance reality show, India's Best Dancer. The singer will not just be seen singing songs on the show but also shaking a leg with show judges, Malaika Arora, Geeta Kapur and Terence Lewis.

Sony shared a promo of the special weekend episode with the caption: Indian Telelvision pe peheli baar dance ki paribhasha se milegi suron ki Asha! Join us as we celebrate 75 years of the Queen of melody in our industry! Dekhiye #IndiasBestDancer season 2, iss Sat-Sun raat 8 baje, sirf Sony par (For the first time on Indian television, the queen of melody, Asha, will meet those who define dance).

It shows Asha Bhonsle arriving on stage with host Maniesh Paul in a blue silk saree. She says, “Bachpan se main dance seekhna chahti thi (wanted to learn dance ever since I was a child)," followed by glimpses of her dancing with everyone. While Maniesh is seen grooving with her on stage, Malaika is seen performing Hrithik Roshan's trademark dance move from the song Ek Pal Ka Jeena with her. Asha also dances with Terence to the song, Ek Main Aur Ek Tu. 

The promo also shows Asha specially singing a Marathi song for an elderly woman who dances to it on stage. 

Asha will be celebrating 75 years of her singing career on the show. The 88-year-old made her singing debut with the song Chala Chala Nav Bala for the 1943 Marathi film Majha Bal. She has sung over 12000 songs in her career. She is the wife of late music legend RD Burman and sister of singer Lata Mangeshkar.

Months before, Asha had expressed her wish to resume her live concerts. She told Hindustan Times, “Just before the pandemic, I did three live shows. It was because of the Covid-19 crisis that many of my shows got cancelled. Pandemic mein toh puri duniya hi baith gai (the pandemic brought everything to a halt). I’m just waiting for things to get normal, so that I can resume my live shows.”
