Several users tagged Leo music composer Anirudh Ravichander in the comments and accused him of plagiarism. Peaky Blinders composer Otnicka has now reacted.

Anirudh Ravichander landed into a plagiarism controversy after he dropped the 'Ordinary Person' track from Leo on YouTube. Leo song copied from Pleaky Blinders

Music composer Anirudh Ravichander has come under fire for one of the songs used in Vijay-starrer Leo.

After the Ordinary Person lyric video from the movie Leo was released on YouTube, several users commented on how the song sounded very much like 'Where Are You?' from Peaky Blinders composer Otnicka and Duke Luke. A comment read, "Raise a copyright claim for that Indian movie for that unauthorized usage of where are you?" Another said, "Please take legal action against him," commented another user.

Otnicka's response in Instagram

The comments caught the attention of Otnicka himself, who shared a post on Instagram to address the issue. He shared that the matter is being taken into consideration and he will update with more information.

“Guys, thanks for hundreds of your messages about the movie ‘Leo’. I can see everything, but it’s physically impossible to answer everyone. The mail is overflowing with messages, Instagram, as well as thousands of comments on YouTube under the video “Where Are You”. The situation is very unclear… We are looking into this and a little later I will give an assessment of everything that is happening (sic). But I'm not accusing anyone yet. Important! One of the authors of "Otnicka - Where Are You" is also a music composer Artem Mikhaenkin - @mihaenkin Thank you” he said.

Otnicka's response to fans

Otnicka even pointed out that he was unaware that his song was being used in Leo. He wrote in response to a fan comment, "The label does not own the copyright and cannot grant a license without the artist's knowledge. No one contacted me and the team (sic)."

Anirudh is yet to share any reaction or statement in this matter.
