Cricketing legend and Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar is fond of Bollywood films. The 39-year-old shares that Ramesh Sippy’s classic, Sholay, is his favourite Bollywood film. “Sholay has to be my favourite film of all times. The actors, the plot and the entire feel of the film is too good. I also loved it because the actors performed brilliantly in the film,” said Tendulkar, who was in Jodhpur during the One World Retreat Festival, last week.
The festival was an initiative by Gaj Singh II, the head of the family of the erstwhile rulers of Jodhpur to raise awareness about and money for the alarming increase in the number of head injuries sustained in India, after his own son, Yuvraj Shiv Singh suffered a similar accident during a Polo match in 2005. The Little Master feels that an initiative like this is a step in the right direction. “I am into sports and I have seen some very grave accidents in the past. This is an important issue and I am happy that Baapji (Gaj Singh as he is referred to affectionately) is taking an important step in this direction, I am honoured to be associated with this cause,” Sachin said.
