Shia LaBeouf's off-screen antics: dramas in real life!
Actor Shia LaBeouf’s arrest last week was not the first time when the Transformer star’s antics have been in news rather than his films. We take a look at some of the incidents he's been involved in since 2013
Actor Shia LaBeouf is perhaps known more for his offscreen antics as compared to his films. Even though the actor has been appreciated for roles in films such as Wall Street: The Money Never Sleeps (2010) and the first three films in the Transformers franchise, LaBeouf is more famous for plagiarising comic book scripts, indulging in drunken driving, pub brawls and more.

Shia dropped out of a broadway show, Orphans, after he fought with actor Alec Baldwin. He was later quoted as saying, "Me and Alec had tension as men. Not as artists, but as men. In a room, that became a hard thing to deal with."

Shia was dining at a restaurant in London, when a female fan came up to him and asked him for his autograph. The fan was then seen leaving the restaurant in tears. After the girl’s boyfriend confronted the actor, the latter got involved in a tussle and was heard as saying, "I can get you killed". Needless to say, while most celebs would have happily signed an autograph, Shia’s clearly not a fan of stardom.

Just 15 days after the infamous London restaurant incident, Shia was the talking point again across international tabloids after he had blatantly picked up the plot from a comic book (Justin M Damiano by Dan Clowes) for his online film, HowardCantour.com. Shia later said that he didn’t copy the comic book, but was ‘inspired’ by it.

Shortly after Shia was made fun off on social media following his plagiarism stunt, he decided to apologise to the author of the comic book. And he rented a plane to write, "I am sorry Dan Clowes" in the sky. The sensational stunt was talked about for two reasons.
First, it looked like a copy of a similar apology issued by American rapper Gucci Mane. Secondly, the author didn’t live in the area where the airplane flew.
Then, in the same month, in a strange move, Shia posted on Twitter that he is "retiring from all public life" following "the recent attacks against my artistic integrity".

And a week later, Shia was in news again. This time, for headbutting a stranger after he reportedly made some nasty remarks about his girlfriend’s (Mia Goth) mother. In a video released online, the scene shows Shia screaming at the man before leaning forward to headbutt him. "What are you saying about my girl’s mom? Are you f***ing kidding me, bro?" Shia allegedly shouted into the man’s ear after the blow.

During a press conference for the film, Nymphomaniac, when asked about the intimate scenes in film, Shia said, "When the seagulls follow the trawler, it is because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea." Little did he know that the epic answer of his was another stolen gem. For football fans across the world, this is a famous quote given by former Manchester United footballing legend, Eric Cantona in 1995!
