Green Day unveil release date for 14th album Saviors, drop first music video
Green Day have announced the release date for their 14th full-length studio album- Saviors
American punk rock band Green Day announced the release date for their 14th studio album on Tuesday, October 24. The band's upcoming album- Saviors, is set to release next year on January 19. Along with this, they have also unveiled its first single titled ‘The American Dream Is Killing Me’. This marks their first full-length album since 2020 and is a follow-up to the album ‘Father of All Motherf–kers’. It will be released via Reprise/Warner Records and is currently available for pre-order.

Earlier today, Green Day released the official video for the single on YouTube. The video, directed by Brendan Walter and Ryan Baxley, is sort of a noir-inspired film that features the band in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. The band's frontman Billie Joe Armstrong, while talking about the newly-released single, said, “As soon we cut it, we said, ‘Okay, that’s going first.’” He further described it as “a look at the way the traditional American Dream doesn’t work for a lot of people – in fact, it’s hurting a lot of people.”
Saviors was first teased by Green Day last week when they debuted the unreleased song at an intimate show held in a 1,000-capacity Fremont Country Club venue, in Las Vegas. However, they made the song public during their headline performance at the When We Were Young festival. The album which is set to release next year will be available in multiple formats and limited edited vinyl colourways, according to NME. Green Day have teamed up with Grammy-winning producer Rob Cavallo, who notably worked with them on their iconic albums- Dookie (1994) and American Idiot (2004).
Additionally, the punk band members have also announced details of an upcoming US headline tour slated for next year, with guest performances by The Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid, and The Linda Lindas. However, the dates for the European leg of the tour will be announced at a later date. On Sunday, October 22, during the second night of the When We Were Young festival, they also debuted an unreleased song titled ‘Look Ma, No Brains!’ 'from the upcoming 2024 album.
