Actor Daniel Radcliffe, best known for playing Harry Potter, has reacted to rumours that he is playing Wolverine in Marvel's upcoming film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Actor Daniel Radcliffe has finally reacted to the rumours that have been floating around for months claiming that he is playing Wolverine in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films. Rumours and leaks had claimed that the Harry Potter star was taking over from Hugh Jackman for the iconic role. In a recent interview, Daniel denied that he had been signed but then added a cryptic 'who knows' at the end of his answer. Daniel Radcliffe is rumoured to take over the Wolverine role from Hugh Jackman.

Reports had claimed earlier this year that Marvel was looking for shorter actors to portray Wolverine in upcoming films starting with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. This was being done to make the character more 'comic-accurate'. Hugh Jackman, who played Wolverine for the last two decades, is over six feet tall. Reports first claimed Taron Egerton was the new Wolverine and after his denial, Daniel's name did the rounds.

Speaking with ComicBook.com at the premiere of his new film, The Lost City, Daniel said, "So many times, people come to me like, 'Hey man, heard the Wolverine news, that's pretty cool.' No, I don't know anything about it. Like, I appreciate that somebody is clearly going like 'Wolverine's actually short in the comic books, you should get like a short guy to do it!'"

The actor added that he didn't feel Marvel would go for him after Hugh Jackman but challenged the studio to prove him wrong. He said, "I don't see them going from Hugh Jackman to me. But who knows? Prove me wrong, Marvel." Daniel rose to fame playing the lead in the eight Harry Potter films, based on the bestselling book franchise written by JK Rowling. Since then, he has acted in a number of independent films.

Wolverine has been rumoured to be among the several Marvel characters that could cameo in Doctor Strange 2. The Sam Raimi film, starring Benedict Cumberbatch in the lead, deals with the concept of multiverse and variants. So far, unconfirmed rumours have claimed that Tom Cruise plays Iron Man in the film, while John Krasinski plays Mr Fantastic. There are also reports of Ryan Reynolds and Tobey Maguire reprising their roles of Deadpool and Spider-Man. The film releases on May 6.
