Udd Jaa Kale Kaava: Sunny Deol can't get enough of Ameesha's purple eyes
The popular romantic song from Anil Sharma's 2001 blockbuster Gadar has been recreated by Mithoon for its sequel that will release on August 11.
The romantic song, Udd Jaa Kale Kaava, from Anil Sharma's 2001 cross border romance Gadar is still fresh in the minds of the film's fans. The track saw a brewing romance between the lead characters, India's Tara Singh (played by Sunny Deol) and Pakistan's Sakeena Singh (played by Ameesha Patel). Udd Jaa Kale Kaava recreated
The popular song has been recreated for the film's long-awaited sequel, Gadar 2, that will release in cinemas on August 11. The new song is sung by the original singers, Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik. The original lyrics by the late Anand Bakshi have been retained. While the origianal melody was composed by Uttam Singh of Dil To Pagal Hai-fame, the recreated version has been done by Mithoon. However, barring a few embellishments, the essence and melody of the first song remains intact.
Sunny and Ameesha in new video
The video of Udd Jaa Kale Kaava from Gadar 2 features the leads of the first film, Sunny and Ameesha, recalling and recreating their romance from over two decades ago. The two are also seen using a dupatta as a prop, just like how they used one in the original video from the 2001 film. The new song is set at their new home in a hill station. With snow-peaked mountains in the backdrop, Ameesha's Sakina, with a her purple eyes, is seen breaking into a bhangra at the end of the song. After she insists, Sunny's Tara reluctantly joins her too.
About Gadar: Ek Prem Katha
The Anil Sharma-directed romantic-action drama original was set during the Partition of India. It created history at the box office when it was released in 2001. The film starred the late Amrish Puri in a pivotal role. It revolves around Tara Singh, a Sikh truck driver from Amritsar, who falls in love with Sakina, a Muslim girl hailing from a political family in Lahore, Pakistan.
The re-release of Gadar came ahead of the sequel's teaser release. Helmed by Anil Sharma, Gadar 2 also stars his son Utkarsh Sharma in the lead roles. Utkarsh played the role of Sunny and Ameesha's son in the first part.
