Mahesh Bhupathi shared a few unseen behind-the-scenes pictures of Lara Dutta on Instagram. He also cheered for her film BellBottom.
Mahesh Bhupathi, tennis player and actor Lara Dutta's husband, on Thursday shared a few unseen pictures of the actor's look from her film, BellBottom. He shared the pictures on Instagram and also cheered for her film. Lara essays the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
In the pictures, Lara Dutta, wearing a saree and a matching blouse, posed with Mahesh. While the first appeared to be a selfie, the second captured the couple in a candid moment. He geotagged the location as Glasglow in the UK.
He captioned the post, "Go 'BellBottom'… Good luck @akshaykumar @larabhupathi @iamhumaq @_vaanikapoor_ @deepshikhadeshmukh @jackkybhagnani …" followed by flexed biceps emojis.
Reacting to the post, Twinkle Khanna wrote, "A fabulous Indira" while Huma Qureshi dropped several red heart emojis.
Earlier in an interview with Zoom TV, Lara spoke about Mahesh's reaction when he saw her in prosthetics. "My husband was shocked. He probably felt very unsettled with the look. He was like 'I don't want to hug you'. You don't really look like yourself," she had said.
Directed by Ranjit M Tewari, the film stars Akshay Kumar in the lead role. It also features Vaani Kapoor and Huma Qureshi. It is the first major Hindi film to hit the screens after cinema halls in some parts of the country resumed operations post the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
BellBottom, a patriotic film, released on Thursday. In its review, Hindustan Times wrote on Lara, "She is terrific in the role, be it her mannerisms, body language, dialogue delivery and how confidently she pulls off playing one of the most iconic political leaders of the country."

On Akshay and the film, Hindustan Times said, "Gritty, determined, suave and stylish, while keeping up with the retro look and charm of the 80s, Akshay is stunning in this espionage thriller. Tewari's direction is well thought of and does not lose focus, and so is Rajiv Ravi's cinematography that captures the cities, be it London or Duba, beautifully."
