Adipurush box office day 13 collection: Prabhas film falls to ₹1.5 cr, may not be able to cross ₹300 cr in India
Adipurush box office day 13 collection: Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan's film recorded its lowest collection on Wednesday.
Adipurush box office day 13 collection: The Om Raut directorial with dialogues by Manoj Muntashir seems to be close to ending its lifetime run in theatres soon. The film starring Prabhas, Saif Ali Khan and Kriti Sanon in lead roles collected its lowest day-collection of just around ₹1.5 crore on Wednesday (day 13). From Thursday, Adipurush will now face competition from the new Hindi release, Satyaprem Ki Katha, starring Kiara Advani and Kartik Aaryan. Lust Stories 2 also releases on the same day but on Netflix.
Adipurush box office
According to a report on Sacnilk.com, with an estimated collection of ₹1.5 crore, the total domestic collection of Adipurush in all languages stands at around ₹281 crore. This may be the end of road for the film as its Thursday collection may be much lower with Satyaprem Ki Katha releasing in theatres on the day. This also raises doubts if Adipurush be able to cross ₹300 crore in India at all now.
Adipurush row
The drop in Adipurush numbers at the box office remains consistent despite changes being made in the film dialogues few days after its release. The dialogue like ‘Kapda tere baap ka (the cloth belongs to your father)’ has now been changed to ‘Kapda teri Lanka ka (the cloth belongs to your Lanka)’. However, its very clear that the changes have been too little, too late as the film continues to suffer amid severe backlash over its colloquial dialogues and treatment of Ramayana.
Allahabad High Court on Adipurush
The Allahabad High Court on Wednesday pulled up the makers of Adipurush over the “very shameful manner” in which the movie portrayed the Ramayana characters, asking them to imagine the law and order problem if the Quran was treated in a similar manner. The Lucknow bench of the high court, which was hearing a petition seeking a ban on the film, asked why such movies are made on the Ramayana, Quran or Bible when they disturb religious feelings.
"Suppose a small documentary was made on the Quran, can you think what kind of a serious law and order problem would have been created. But because of the tolerance of Hindus, things are not turning ugly despite this blunder by filmmakers," said the vacation bench of justices Rajesh Singh Chauhan and Shree Prakash Singh.
