Abhishek not Salman is the 'Gentleman'

Who is Bollywood’s on-screen gentleman? The answer is Abhishek Bachchan. For some time now, Rajkumar Santoshi’s Ladies And Gentlemen has been the subject of heavy speculation including the latest about Salman Khan bagging the lead role. Junior B, however, is confirmed to play the male lead and not Khan.

"Whenever the film is made, Abhishek is going to be the hero," says producer Ramesh Taurani. "I don’t know why unnecessary speculations have been doing the rounds." In fact, Santoshi and Bachchan have already had a few sittings about the script.

According to Taurani, Ladies And Gentlemen won’t go on floors before December. "The casting process is yet to kick off," he says. But

sources suggest Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra are the frontrunners to bag the female lead part.

"After Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, people are looking forward to Santoshi’s next. But neither Santoshi sir nor Tauraniji has been able to focus on Ladies And Gentlemen as they’re busy with their other films," says a source.

Initially, there were reports that Bachchan would team up with wife Aishwarya, which the actor denied. Then it was said that Khan would be paired with Padukone. But Taurani refutes the reports. "The script is yet to be locked. So how can we finalise the girl?"
