Aam Aadmi Party's candidate Sanjeev Gautam bagged 30,304 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 45.3%, 27.5% and 22.6% respectively.
In Punjab Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Madan Mohan Mittal outperformed Indian National Congress's Kanwar Pal Singh by 7,886 votes.
