Yadgir comes under the Gulbarga district and it is one of the 224 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Constituencies. People of Yadgir voted for Karnataka Assembly Election 2023 on May 10 and the result was declared on May 13.
Yadgir assembly constituency had 2,31,116 electors in 2018, out of which 1,14,900 were male voters and 1,16,192 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.7% votes.
In the Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election 2018, Yadgir constituency had 10 candidates for assembly seat contention. Yadgir was one of 104 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Venkatreddy Mudnal won the election by upstaging Indian National Congress's Dr.A B Maalakaraddy by a margin of 12,881 votes.
The top three candidates split 96.2% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Venkatreddy Mudnal got a total of 62,227 votes, while Indian National Congress's Dr.A B Maalakaraddy secured 49,346 votes. Janata Dal (Secular)'s candidate A.C. Kadloor grabbed the third spot with 25,774 votes. The top three parties got 43.6%, 34.6% and 18.0% respectively.
In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Indian National Congress's Dr. Maalakareddy beat Karnataka Jantha Paksha's Veer Baswant Reddy by 9,104 votes.
