Karnataka Election: Shivajinagar Assembly Constituency 2023

Shivajinagar is the assembly constituency which comes under the Bangalore district. It is one of the 224 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Constituencies. Karnataka Assembly Election 2023 for Shivajinagar will be held on May 10 and the result was declared on May 13.

What happened last time

In the Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election 2018, Shivajinagar constituency had 14 candidates for assembly seat contention. Shivajinagar was one of 80 seats won by the Indian National Congress. Indian National Congress's R Roshan Baig won the election by upstaging Bharatiya Janata Party's Katta Subramanya Naidu by a margin of 15,040 votes.

The top two candidates split 97.7% of votes between them. Indian National Congress's R Roshan Baig got a total of 59,742 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Katta Subramanya Naidu secured 44,702 votes. Janata Dal (Secular)'s candidate Shaik Masthan Ali secured 1,313 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 55.9%, 41.8% and 1.2% respectively.

In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Indian National Congress's R.Roshan Baig beat Bharatiya Janata Party's Nirmal Surana by 20,855 votes.
