Sedam is the assembly constituency which comes under the Gulbarga district. It is one of the 224 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Constituencies. Karnataka Assembly Election 2023 for Sedam will be held on May 10 and the result was declared on May 13.

Bharatiya Janata Party's Rajkumar Patil got a total of 80,668 votes, while Indian National Congress's Dr. Sharan Prakash Rudrappa Patil secured 73,468 votes. Janata Dal (Secular)'s candidate Sunita Mahantesh Talawar Malkhed secured 2,075 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 51.3%, 46.7% and 1.3% respectively.
In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Indian National Congress's Dr Sharanprakash Patil outperformed Bharatiya Janata Party's Rajkumar by 11,895 votes.
