Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate Amaresh secured 8,411 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 45.3%, 41.2% and 5.1% respectively.
In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Independent candidate G.Manjunatha beat Janata Dal (Secular)'s N. Munianjappa by 33,734 votes.
