Krishnaraja is one of the 224 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Mysore district. People of Krishnaraja voted for Karnataka Assembly Election 2023 on May 10 and the result was declared on May 13.
Krishnaraja assembly constituency had 2,39,192 electors in 2018, out of which 1,18,574 were male voters and 1,20,595 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.6% votes.
In the Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election 2018, Krishnaraja constituency had 19 candidates for assembly seat contention. Krishnaraja was one of 104 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's S A Ramadas won the election by upstaging Indian National Congress's M K Somashekar by a margin of 26,347 votes.
The top two candidates split 89.9% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's S A Ramadas got a total of 78,573 votes, while Indian National Congress's M K Somashekar secured 52,226 votes. Janata Dal (Secular)'s candidate Mallesh K V secured 11,607 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 54.0%, 35.9% and 8.0% respectively.
In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Indian National Congress's M.K.Somashekar defeated Bharatiya Janata Party's S.A.Ramadas by 6,065 votes.
